About AEPN

The African Executive Professional Network (AEPN) is a professional network established as an initiative of the African CEO Council. It brings together professionals, executives, practitioners and experts across Africa and the African diaspora to build connections, exchange knowledge, support collaboration and advance professional excellence across sectors.

AEPN is designed to connect people across professions, industries, countries and communities. It is a platform for professional engagement and knowledge-sharing—not a licensing, accreditation or professional regulatory body.

Who Can Join?

AEPN welcomes eligible professionals from public, private, nonprofit, academic and development sectors, including:

• Business owners, entrepreneurs, executives and managers
• Lawyers, legal advisers and company secretaries
• Doctors and other health professionals
• Engineers, architects and technical specialists
• Accountants, auditors, tax advisers and financial planners
• Banking, finance, investment and insurance professionals
• Management consultants, strategy advisers and business coaches
• Technology, digital transformation, data and responsible AI professionals
• Academics, researchers, trainers and educators
• Public-sector leaders and development professionals
• Nonprofit and civil-society executives
• Artists, designers, professional printers and other creative practitioners
• Other qualified or experienced professionals whose work contributes to economic, social or professional development

Membership Fee

Standard annual membership: US$100 per individual.

The standard fee is intended to be consistent across professions, sectors and countries. Any concession, sponsored membership or other exception must be approved under arrangements authorised by the African CEO Council. Members should use only the payment instructions issued through official AEPN or Council channels.

Membership is individual. An organisation may sponsor one or more named individuals or enter into a separate institutional partnership, but payment by an organisation does not automatically make all its staff AEPN members.

Member Benefits

1. Professional networking: Connect with professionals and peers across countries, sectors and areas of expertise.
2. Monthly online webinars: Participate in planned webinars and knowledge-sharing sessions featuring practitioners and subject-matter experts, subject to the published programme.
3. African Professional Summit and Expo: Engage with the Network’s annual gathering, with event registration and any applicable fees governed by the event’s published terms.
4. Professional directory: Opt in to a member directory that can help members discover professional expertise and connect, subject to privacy and consent arrangements.
5. Visibility and knowledge contributions: Be considered to contribute articles, interviews, case studies, insights and professional perspectives to Council or AEPN platforms.
6. Collaboration and partnership opportunities: Explore professional collaboration, peer learning and potential partnerships with other members and participating institutions.
7. Speaker, trainer and mentor consideration: Eligible members may be considered for speaking, training, mentoring or panel roles based on expertise and programme needs; selection and paid assignments are not guaranteed.
8. Professional information and updates: Receive relevant updates about AEPN activities, events, learning opportunities and selected African CEO Council initiatives.
9. Africa and diaspora engagement: Build connections among professionals working in African countries and across the diaspora.
10. Access to selected Council initiatives: Receive information about selected Council programmes and opportunities to participate where eligibility and event terms permit.

Membership Period and Renewal

• Membership runs for 12 months from the commencement date or according to an annual membership cycle formally approved by the Council.
• Members will be informed of the applicable renewal date and authorised renewal process.
• Membership remains subject to AEPN policies, the Council’s governance arrangements and any published membership conditions.
• Membership confirmation or a digital membership card may be issued through the approved administrative process.

Member Participation and Responsibilities

Members are encouraged to:

• Provide accurate registration and professional information and update it when necessary.
• Engage respectfully and constructively with other members.
• Respect confidentiality, privacy, intellectual property and applicable laws.
• Disclose relevant conflicts of interest and avoid misleading claims about their role or affiliation with AEPN or the Council.
• Use the Network’s name and identity responsibly and obtain approval before making statements on behalf of AEPN or the Council.
• Comply with the applicable code of conduct and event or programme requirements.

Governance and Administration

AEPN operates under the authority of the African CEO Council and is not a separate legal entity. The Council retains final authority over the Network’s governance, policies, strategic direction and official commitments. The Council President and CEO supervises the Network and may appoint or change its coordinating leadership and committees in accordance with Council arrangements.

AEPN membership does not confer membership of the African CEO Council, a Council leadership position, professional licence or accreditation, employment, a contract, or a guarantee of business or paid assignments. No member or committee may bind AEPN or the Council, incur expenditure, enter contracts, open accounts or issue official policy statements without the required authorisation.

Directory, Privacy and Communications

Participation in any member directory should be voluntary and based on informed consent. The Network should collect only information needed for membership administration and approved activities, and should explain how member data will be used, who may access it and how a member can request a correction or withdrawal of directory consent. Members should not assume that personal contact details will be made public unless they have expressly agreed.

Official communications and membership instructions will be issued through authorised AEPN or African CEO Council channels.

How to Join

1. Complete the official AEPN membership registration form: Registration form.
2. Provide the requested professional and contact details and any required consent choices.
3. Pay the annual membership fee of US$100 using the authorised payment method communicated by the Network.
4. Await confirmation from the authorised AEPN or Council administrator.
